Dylan Davies
Co-Director / Performer
Dylan Davies is a dance-acro performer, choreographer and dance-theatre artist with over 10 years’ performance experience and 7 years of making work. A formally trained contemporary dancer, Dylan has also trained in breaking, ballet, ballroom and partner acrobatics/circus, bringing a versatile movement vocabulary and strong storytelling focus to the creative process at NS.
Dylan graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance and completed an MA Professional Placement with Motionhouse. Since 2022, he has performed with Motionhouse across UK and international tours in indoor and outdoor dance-circus productions including Starchitechs, Henge, Captive, Nobody, Hidden, Wild, Block and Three. He has also performed with Northern Rascals and 2Faced Dance.
Alongside performing and choreography, Dylan directs dance films, with work screened at Flock Festival in Leeds, Smithfield during the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the Ikaria Dance Festival in Greece in 2026.
As co-founder of NS with Jules Young, Dylan aims to create artistically versatile work that fuses movement styles with dance-theatre, using physical storytelling to create accessible, engaging experiences that connect with audiences.

Jules Young
Co-Director / Performer
Jules Young is a multi-disciplinary performer, director and lighting designer. Creating and performing work that encompasses elements from all realms of performance to best serve the story being told. In pursuit of this, he has worked for over a decade as a dancer, circus performer, actor, technical stage manager, director and lighting designer. Working across theatre, dance, circus and immersive technical performance.
After graduating from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, he toured internationally with VERVE which kickstarted a string of notable professional performance credits including touring with No Fit State Circus, Ransack dance company and Motionhouse. Performing both in venues and outdoors. Encompassing immersive shows spanning contemporary dance, hand to hand acrobatics, aerial rope, walkabout, theatre, bungee harness dance and solo acrobatics.
Jules started No Sleep dance theatre during 2019 with a co-conspirator allowing an avenue to pour creativity into for the past 7 years. Working as one of two Artistic directors Jules has created work that has been performed at Green Man festival, Springmoves and Spiritfest, just to name a few. His solo work Orpheus was performed at FlockFest and Durham Fringe festival. Over the past 2 years he has completed a DYCP investigating traditional and contemporary storytelling techniques, uniquely blending theatre, dance, circus and lighting design.
Alongside dance Jules has extensive experience as a lighting designer/technician for CULTVR, Blake Theatre, Orla Hardie, Human's Move and Lost Dog Dance. Along side technical stage manager work for Lost Dog Dance, Theatr Iolo and Human’s Move.
This wealth of experience from performative to technical allows the work that Jules makes to be creatively diverse and technically innovative in a ‘best of both worlds’ scenario, which is a theme repeated across his portfolio.
